At The Governor’s Academy, a renewed focus on how we teach inspired a master planning process that aligns educational priorities with campus development. OLSON LEWIS + Architects and The Stone House Group, in collaboration with school leadership, developed a planning method rooted in constraint, authenticity and participation. School leaders and business partners will share how a campus plan can serve as a North Star, prioritize the adaptive reuse of facilities, and engage the broader school community in shaping the future. With a focus on process and participation, this model enables commitment and clarity, without requiring rigid paths forward.

Learning Objectives: Participants will learn to identify key elements of a durable campus planning process and recognize how aligning campus development with strategic and pedagogical priorities enhances long-term value. They will discuss approaches to engaging diverse stakeholders in participatory planning and illustrate how adaptive reuse can be prioritized over new construction. Ultimately, participants will be able to develop a resilient and flexible framework that fosters institutional commitment while accommodating future shifts in direction.
