Fundraising During Turbulent Times

(From Chronicle of Philanthropy) The Trump Administration's efforts to cut federal funding are prompting nonprofits to adjust their fundraising strategies. Those affected by federal freezes are seeking stopgap funding from donors at all levels. Nonprofits not reliant on government funds are strengthening their own financial support while assisting others. Some, like the National Council of Urban Indian Health, have hired fundraising firms, while others are cutting costs, such as by terminating office leases. Others are adjusting their messaging to resonate with a polarized donor base and mitigating risks related to diversity, equity and inclusion policies.
