(from NBOA) NBOA is excited to announce an important collaboration with the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS) to make it easier for New York independent schools to analyze and use their financial data to inform strategic decision-making.
NBOA and NYSAIS have agreed to a data partnership to maximize the value of the data schools enter annually into NAIS’s Data and Analysis for School Leadership (DASL) platform. Since fall 2021, NBOA has partnered with NAIS on the collection of the financial operations data points in DASL. After a team of expert data scrubbers review the data, NBOA ports the data into NBOA’s Business Intelligence for Independent Schools (BIIS) platform.
While the benefit of the BIIS data platform is included in a school’s NBOA membership, a portion of NYSAIS schools are not NBOA members. This new partnership will allow all NYSAIS schools to access BIIS for and a large and reliable dataset. In addition, NYSAIS will now have administrative access to BIIS and can analyze data that will inform their work and share meaningful and actionable findings with members.
“This collaboration demonstrates the continued commitment that NYSAIS and NBOA share in providing PK-12 independent schools with the data, tools and resources needed to inform their decision-making and to secure their school’s long-term financial health,” commented Jeff Shields, NBOA president and CEO.
