As Careers Advance, Pay Takes a Back Seat, Study Finds

(From HR Dive) As employees advance in their careers, priorities shift from salary to work-life balance and professional growth, according to a SHRM survey. While 89% of workers overall value salary most, only 31% of directors say the same. Many report that career advancement negatively impacts their mental (45%) and physical health (47%), with directors most affected. Nearly a third of directors delay personal goals for work. However, organizational support — like mentorships and leadership resources — can help employees manage these trade-offs and build resilience.
