(From Campus Safety) With a new school year come new risks for educators and school leaders — ranging from “swatting” threats and social media rumors to online harassment. In addition to revisiting routine safety protocols, school risk managers should prepare by:

• Reviewing last year’s close calls and run “what-if” scenarios.
• Testing tech systems: access control, video surveillance, analytics.
• Communicating any updates to safety policies.
• Ensuring emergency plans include students with special needs.
• Confirming all staff know lockdown procedures.
